Here are some places to consider if you wanna go salsing.

------------
Location:
Union Square MAP
When:
Monday - Saturday (9pm to 2am)
Cover Charge:
Monday - Thursday: $8 inclusive of 1 standard drink
Friday & Saturday: $15 inclusive of 2 standard drinks
Specials:
LADIES night on Friday. Ladies enter for free and free flow of soft drinks and house pour.
Parking:
- $2.58 per entry if you park at Amara Hotel basement.
- Free parking at the URA lots outside of the hotel after 10pm.
For the rest who don't drive:
MRT to Tanjong Pagar and follow the signs to Amara Hotel.
Comments:
Usually very packed with dances during the Fridays and weekends. Leaders would need to keep a closer eye on your follower to prevent injuries (usually quite unlikely) and there is a live band performance almost every night as well.

------------
Location:
Brix MAP
When:
Sunday Night
Cover Charge:
None
Specials:
None
Parking:
- $4 per entry at Hyatt
For the rest who don't drive:
Bus to Scotts Road or walk from Orchard MRT
Comments:
Plays a variety of Latin music, including salsa, cha cha, merengue, gypsy-kings-type songs. May require bugging of the DJ to play more salsa as the dancer tend to pander the crowd.

------------
Location:
Naxos MAP
When:
Wednesday Nights
Cover Charge:
None
Specials:
None
Parking:
$2 per entry after 6pm at China Square Central
For the rest who don't drive:
Bus to South Bridge Road, or MRT to Raffles Place or China Town.
Comments:
Drinks are cheap and the dance floor is nice but very small. There is an area for al fresco dining as well.

------------
Location:
Xenbar MAP
When:
Every Night (usually start after 10pm)
Cover Charge:
First drink charge for guys.
$10 for a non-alcoholic drink
$12 for a alcoholic drink
Specials:
LADIES night EVERY night, including a free cherry cocktail.
Parking:
- $2 per entry at China Square Central
- Free parking area along Club Street after 10pm
For the rest who don't drive:
MRT to Chinatown and exit at Pagoda Street. Walk away from Chinatown MRT towards South Bridge Road. It's in the 4-storey single pink shophouse on your left.
Comments:
Bring your own music if you have a preference. If not, you can always listen to the CDs they have available.

------------
Location:
The Upper Club MAP
When:
Alternate Saturdays from 28th October 2006
Salsa Tea Dance - 2.30pm to 6.30pm
Salsa Night Fever - 8.30pm to 2.00am
Cover Charge:
Salsa Tea Dance - $15 inclusive of 2 soft drinks
Salsa Night Fever - $20 inclusive of 2 soft drinks (or 1 house pour)
Specials:
None
Parking:
$2 for first hour, $1 subsequent hours
For the rest who don't drive:
MRT to City Hall MRT and walk along Bras Basar. Chijmes is opposite Carlton Hotel.
Comments:
Quite spacious but it's a more upclass place and requires the customers to be smart casually dresses. Jeans are a no-no and definitely no sports shoes or slippers.

hahah:) this week has been exciting... been dancing every single day since Tue Smile

My friends and I visited 2 new places so thought i will share with you guys my personal experience.

Wed@Thumper--> i find it a real disappointment. I was there for less than 10minutes and we headed back to Union manz... The whole place is not exactly big to start with, so not much space for ppl to seat or stand around to 'watch' ppl dancing. The dancefloor which is already very small has a platform right in the middle for pole dancing used... hahahaha yup, pole dancing. Not just these, the sound system sucks and the whole ambience sucks sucks sucks!!! kekekeke... ok ok, all these my personal opinion, feel free to go check it out yourself.

For me, i wont be going there again Smile

Thur@Fuego--> woot! I love this place. Fuego is not a big place too. But the ambience is nice and cozy... what i like most is their dance floor... smoother than a baby's bum hahahahaha... but really, they have excellent dance floor for turnings/spinnings and a full length mirror for ladies to check on their styling.... more bachata music than Union but DJ is nice enough to cater to your preference whenever he can... apparently, they have instructors around to guide you and even dance with you... that is really a plus, every extra guidance is precious to me Smile

For those who wants to have good place for practice or trying out new moves, Fuego will be ideal. Be there early as drinks can be expensive after Happy Hours.

Thats all I have for you guys.

Please note that with immediate effect, Hardrock Cafe would no longer be continuing it's salsa nights.
