Rock Climbing Course - SAFRA (14th January)

Since we missed out the last one, here's one upcoming in January. Please let me know so that I can confirm earlier.

Description of Course:
The course is certified by Singapore Mountaineering Federation and is aimed at beginners who have no knowledge of sport climbing. The syllabus will cover equipment, belay technique, practical climbing and safety. It is a 7hr, 1 day course (9.30am to 5.30pm) and the instructor ratio is 1:8 students. Climbing equipment will be provided during the course. Upon completion, a certification will be issued by the Singapore Mountaineering Federation.

Class will commence with a minimum of 6 pax.
Participants must be 13 years old and above.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be entitled to 2 free climbing sessions on any of our 15m/25m/ 18m wall/ bouldeting gym plus free usage of equipment. This entitlement is non transferable and is valid for 1 month from the date of the course.

All fees paid are non-refundable unless the course is cancelled by SAFRA. Any change in course dates must be notified by phone call, email, letter at least 7 days before starting of the course. Any change in course dates must be replaced within one month. Special exemption will be considered on a case to case basis. If a participant is absent on the day of the course, no refund will be issued. A replacement date will be arranged within one month if a medical certificate is produced.

Are you guys still going for the course? Just curious. =)

I have completed my climbing courses. Can go climbing outing if there is any.

There has been a slight change of plans.
Due to the wet weather, SAFRA would be putting the course on hold. Will check out the details for the courses in February and update you.

Terence: I've actually also completed my climbing course and did my climbing course in OBS. However, just going back to join them for refresher (been ages).
Feel free to organise an outing as quite a number of the people here are quite interested.

You did climbing level 1 with OBS? Let's have one outing after the level 1 climbing course at SAFRA.

No, I did the Safety Ropes instructor and Challenge / Rock Climbing Rock course with OBS and another Australian Company to be a certified instructor for the course.
But that was like when I was in polytechnic way back.

wow justin, that makes you a certified instructor to teach rock climbing?

I see. That's great we can all share our experiences when we go for our outing. I'm relatively new to rock climbing too. Still finding my way around.
