Description:
Every Friday (except the last Friday of the month), Latin Fiesta is held at Jitterbugs Swingapore. The fiesta is held at Union Square on th last Friday of each month. Not only is it the place for our students to practice their moves and grooves, it is also the meeting place of Singapore Salseros to shine and style.

Class Name: Salsa I
Level: Beginner
Duration: 8 weeks x 1 hour

Description:
Our Salsa I courses are structured 8-week classes (one hour per week) that cover the fundamentals of salsa dancing. At the end of the 8 weeks, you should be able to dance the salsa socially.

Dance experience is not expected or required in this class -- you can take this class if you've never danced in your life before. Or you can take it as a refresher course, if you've learnt salsa "somewhere, sometime ago".

You can come alone or bring your friends with you, but you do not need to bring a partner. In our classes, to emphasize the social aspect of the dance, we'll rotate partners frequently, so that you will be able to salsa with anybody and everybody.

Class Name: Salsa II
Level: Beginner / Intermediate
Duration: 8 week (or 16 weeks) x 1 hours
Pre-requisite: Salsa I
Description:
Our Salsa II classes are 8-week courses with 2 syllabi, LA and Cuban style, which means that you can do both syllabi A and B concurrently in 8-weeks, or you can finish the 2 syllabi over 16 weeks.

Salsa II builds on Salsa I, by consolidating the fundamentals you learnt in Salsa I (or elsewhere). Our objective in Salsa II is to expand your salsa moves vocabulary, and to introduce you to the different concepts and aspects of salsa dancing. At the end of the 2 courses of Salsa II classes, you should be quite comfortable dancing socially.

Like Salsa I, you don't need to bring a partner, but salsa experience at the level of Salsa I is a must.

Class Name: Salsa III
Level: Intermediate / Advanced
Duration: Ongoing
Pre-requisite:
Needs to be comfortable with shines and variations from Salsa II.
Description:
Salsa III students are expected to be comfortable with all the shines and variations that we will teach in Level II classes - we will not teach these in Level III. More complicated variations and styling are taught.

Class Name: Salsa IV
Level: Advanced
Duration: Ongoing
Pre-requisite: By Audition ONLY
Description:
Salsa IV classes focus on technique and trickier variations with multiple turns as the norm. Dancing on different counts will also be introduced. Students at this level should be comfortable with lead and follow techniques, styling and musicality.

Class Name: Salsa Clinics
Level: Varied
Duration: Bi-Annual

Description:

The aim of our Salsa Clinic is to provide all dancers with the opportunity to improve their skills. We recognise that everyone learns at a different pace and has different goals for their dancing. Some are keen to develop and are willing to put in time and effort to practice, while others simply prefer to just enjoy dance as a recreation!

Salsa Clinics offer critical feedback to those that wish to improve their Salsa. Clinics will be held once every 6 months and gives you a chance to work one-on-one with a teacher for 15 minutes. We assume that you come to the session ready to receive candid and frank comments (though of course you may choose to disagree!)

Once the dates of the clinic are announced, please e-mail us to book your 15-minute slot. Your slot will be confirmed by return e-mail. A teacher from our faculty will be assigned at random (you may not request your favourite!) Please do not be late for your slot.

Fee: $10 per 15-minute slot.

Please remember:
1. We would love everyone to be in Level IV! We want to offer constructive comments to help you improve. But we can only do so if you also want the same thing and are ready to work for it.
2. It's ok to be a 'recreational dancer' who is happy with just enjoying each dance. (As long you don't injure your partner or fellow dancers!) Improving your skills as a dancer in any dance form just requires practice and effort.

Class Name: Bachata
Level: Beginner / Intermediate
Duration: 4 weeks x 1 hour

Description:
The great way to start learning Bachata. These classes will get you onto the dance floor with some basic to intermediate patterns, including ways to recognise Bachata music.

Attire: Dress comfortably.
Footwear: Court shoes with ankle straps that secure the shoe to your feet. Sneakers or track shoes. No slippers or sandals

Class Name: Salsa Casino I
Level: Beginner / Intermediate
Duration: 8 weeks x 1 hour
Pre-requisite: Salsa I
Description:
Our Salsa Casino I courses are structured 8-week classes (one hour per week) that cover the fundamentals of Salsa Casino. At the end of 8 weeks, you should be able to join in a Rueda or Casino circle on the social dance floor.

Dance experience at the level of our Salsa I is required for this class, because the casino patterns are built on Salsa I fundamentals.

Due to the nature of Salsa Casino, we will rotate partners frequently, so you will be able to do the Salsa Casino with anybody and everybody.

Class Name: Salsa Casino II
Level: Intermediate
Duration: 16 weeks x 1 hour

Our Salsa Casino II classes are structured into 2 x 8-week courses of Syllabi A and B. Salsa Casino II builds on Salsa Casino I, by consolidating the fundamentals you learnt in Salsa Casino I. Our objective in Salsa II is to expand your Salsa Casino vocabulary.

At the end of 16 weeks of Salsa Casino II classes and practice on the social dance floor, you should be quite comfortable lead calling Salsa Casino. Like Salsa Casino I, you don't need to bring a partner, but Salsa Casino experience at the level of Salsa Casino I is a must.

Class Name: Salsa Casino III
Level: Advanced

Description:
Salsa Casino III classes are ongoing. The Salsa Casino III syllabus includes longer complicated moves, including Master level and lead/follow switching-type variations.

Class Name: Merengue
Level: Beginner / Intermediate
Duration: 8 weeks x 1 hour
Pre-requisite: NIL
Description:
The Merengue is the national dance of the Dominican Republic, which is ideally suited to small, crowded dance floors. It is a dance that is easy to learn and essentially a “fun” dance.

Salsa is about moves, and Merengue is about movement. This 8-week course will improve the quality of your dance movement and inject a greater vitality into your dance style.
