PostSubject: Description of Class - Intermediate Module 2 - 4   Attitude Dance School Icon_minitimeThu Dec 07, 2006 12:19 pm

Class Name: Intermediate Module 2 - 4
Level: Intermediate
Duration: 5 weeks x 1 hour (per module)
Pre-requisite: Completed Intermediate Module 1
Description:
These intermediate levels will combine, refine and vary all the core moves which you have learnt. As you progress, you will build up both a comprehensive (100% lead-able) and impressive (100% ‘showoff-able’ !!) vocabulary of dance patterns, tricks and some very safe dips.

At Attitude Dance Studio, we focus on the technical aspects of execution. Our Ladies will learn how to: identify various ‘signals’ from a leader; read him correctly; and successfully execute the move.

Our modules do not have stagnant syllabi. They are regularly updated to reflect the newest Salsa trends and ideas. Students often repeat these modules at ADS not just to learn the hottest new turn patterns and styling, but also as valuable refreshers to correct any bad habits picked up.

The Intermediate 4 serves as a bridge for students wishing to cross the gap from the intermediate to the advanced level. Instead on focusing too much on more and more dance patterns, you will revise your intermediate patterns with a greater emphasis on technicality and musicality. Students will be introduced to dancing to the count of “2”. In addition, students will learn the various genres of Salsa music, and how to interpret and respond to them with their individual dance styles.

A good salsa dancer must know his music, and at Attitude Dance Studio, we pride ourselves on being a school which teaches our students about music. Our school has contributed greatly to the enjoyment students derive from the dance numbers played in the Salsa clubs today.

PostSubject: Description of Class - Salsa Casino Rueda Modules 1-3 &   Attitude Dance School Icon_minitimeThu Dec 07, 2006 12:21 pm

Class Name: Salsa Casino Rueda Modules 1-3 & Advanced
Level: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced
Duration: 5 weeks x 1 hour (per module)
Pre-requisite: Completed at least Salsa Beginner Module 2
Description:
This course should be taken when the student has completed at least Salsa Beginners Module 2. Rueda de Casino (or Casino Rueda) is a way of dancing Salsa in a group that is very popular in Cuba and Miami. Couples form a circle. A "Leader" calls out names for specific choreographed dance patterns which all the couples then execute. Many of these moves involve exchanging partners during the song.

There is a very organic feel to the Rueda as couples execute each call in unison. Rueda is both challenging and exciting, particularly as the moves get more difficult. Furthermore, although each turn pattern is named and pre-choreographed, many of them can be led, so there is an incredible amount of material dancers can carry over to their social Salsa dancing. Men will learn many new moves, and ladies will learn to recognise the signals for some of these moves.

There are various levels of Rueda from the Beginner up to Master Level at Attitude Dance Studio.
