Pulau Ubin Outing - Cycling, Sea food (1/2 day)

Hey all,

I am organising an outing to Pulau Ubin this coming January. It will be a half-day get-to-know-Ubin-on-Bike excursion and you are welcome to bring your friends along as well.

Details are as follows:
Date / Day: 27th January (Saturday)
Time: Early morning to early afternoon (end no later than 4pm)
Venue: Pulau Ubin
Cost Incurred:
Budget around: $20 / person
Boat Ride -> $2 / trip (pay each trip ... once there, once back)
Rental of Bicycles -> $4
Seafood Lunch -> approximately $10 / person
* Cost was incurred last time in August 2005 (prices may vary)

Meeting Information:
- 0800hrs @ Changi Village Terminal if you want to have Breakfast (some of the MakanSutra's Nasi Lemak places are all in Changi Village)
* CONFIRM if you're coming for breakfast, if not I'm not going to wake u so early "D
- 0845hrs @ Changi Village Terminal for those who do not know how to get to the Changi Point Ferry Terminal
- 0900hrs @ Changi Point Ferry Terminal

How to Get There?
- SBS Bus 2 from Clarke Quay
- SBS Bus 29 from Tampines Interchange
- Good Ole' $2.50 Taxi Uncle, ask him drop you at Changi Village

Things to Bring:
Bottle Water ... (I will be bringing the 1l bottles of water so you all can top up if required)
Cap (if you don't want to get sun-burnt)
Extra Set of Clothings (In case of rain)
Poncho (In case you're afraid of rain)
Cash ($20 - 30 is more than enough)
Personal Equipment (Handphone, wallet etc)

Cash Breakdown:
Costing should be around the following range:
Bumboat ride across - $2 per trip (total $4 unless you're only intending to make a One-Way trip)
Bike Rentals: Between $6 - $15 (depending which one you choose)
Lunch: $5 - $20 (depending on selection)

DOs & DON'Ts To Take Note
- Do have some breakfast at least before going.
- Do wear covered shoes. Shoes with laces please tie them up or tuck them away properly.
- Don't Wear Slippers

- Pulau Ubin Island (duh....)
- Pulau Ubin Town
- Malay Kampong Houses
- Chek Jawa
- Mamam Beach
- Orchid Farm along Sungei Mamam
- Noordin Beach

* items are not in sequence of visit and depending on the weather, we may not see everything

Target: To be back in Pulau Ubin town by about 12:00hrs - 12:30hrs to feed the hungry souls "D

After Ubin Activity
For those of you Interested, some of us are doing the following after Ubin:

- going home to bath and change
- going to watch movie (Blood Diamond) @ GV VivoCity most likely
- a night of dancing and chilling @ St. James Power Station's Dragonfly and Boiler Room (R&B)
